Derek and I (Marion) live in the south-east corner of Tasmania and have caught the sailing bug. We take our boat, Ariadne’s Clew out as often as we can, for cruising as well as the occasional social race, in the varied waterways of this lovely little corner of the world.
A Ship is supposed to keep a Log, with regular recordings of information such as position, wind and sea state and other technical details, as well as who’s on board and what you do. We have a Ship’s Log on board, in the form of a bound book with lots of columns, but rarely fill out the details. The most useful information we record is engine hours and fuel consumption. Not inspiring reading. We do have an interesting time afloat and in the interests of keeping the land-lubbing family and friends informed (and possibly inspired to join us from time to time) I’ve decided to keep a Ships bLog online for 2015 – let’s see what happens.
